Shreya Chandra is an undergraduate student double majoring in Aerospace Science and Engineering and Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Davis, as well as minoring in Computer Science and pursuing a Certificate of Entrepreneurship. Shreya is a Spring, Summer, and Fall 2023 NASA Goddard Engineering Intern. She is a member of the Spring 2023 NASA L'SPACE Mission Concept Academy and Summer 2023 NASA L'SPACE NPWEE (NASA Proposal Writing and Evaluation Experience). Shreya is a recent participant of the UC Davis E-SEARCH program, through which she created a 2D alpha particle radiation simulation. Passionate about bioastronautics and propulsion, she is an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the UC Davis Bioastronautics and eXploration Systems (BXS) Lab and Energy Research Lab (ERL). On-campus, she is the current Chair for the UC Davis chapter of AIAA (American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics), Co-Founder/Co-President of SEDS (Students for the Exploration and Development of Space) at UC Davis, Aggie Propulsion and Rocketry Lab member (Injector/Thrust Chamber Assembly subteam), Space and Satellite Systems member (Sun Sensors subteam), and Society of Women Engineers member. Moreover, Shreya is a 2024 Keller Pathway Fellow, 2023 Space4Girls Stellar Rising Star, 2022 and 2023 Society of Women Engineers Scholar, 2023 United Nations Office of Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) Space4Women Mentee, 2023 Mead & Hunt Scholar, and 2022 WTS Transportation YOU Scholar. Outside of her academic pursuits, she has been a competitive figure skater for the past thirteen years and is an avid bookworm.
