Saima is a first year Masters student at the University of Michigan studying Mechanical Engineering. She recently completed her Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering minoring in Electrical Engineering at the University of Michigan. Saima is incredibly passionate about furthering space exploration efforts and aims to pursue a PhD where she hopes to develop novel robotic mechanisms for space exploration. She has always had a passion for tinkering and space exploration where she hopes to one day make her dreams of becoming an astronaut a reality. During her undergraduate studies, she worked with several industries in the aerospace sector involving two major flagship missions as a co-op with NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory supporting the Europa Clipper Mission and as a Brooke Owens Fellow with NASA Goddard supporting the Solar Dynamic Observatory. Throughout her academic career she has consistently aimed to serve her community and underrepresented groups through taking several initiatives focused on increasing college readiness for high schools and assisting first year students with developing successful degree paths in engineering. Saima enjoys taking a multidisciplinary approach to engineering and aims to constantly grow her skills. She is thrilled to work with Rocket Lab as a Matthew Isakowitz Fellow this summer!
