Host Company: AstroForge

Michael Chhay is a fourth-year undergraduate student in Aeronautics and Astronautics at Stanford University with an interest in bridging software and hardware to further autonomous spacecraft capabilities. Through this intersection, Michael hopes to advance the future of commercial space by making it accessible to all around the world. Michael is inspired by experiences at the Extreme Environment Systems Laboratory and Loft Orbital, where he worked as a researcher and satellite systems engineer. At Stanford, Michael has served as class president for the past four years, plays on the club water polo team, and counsels bay-area youth who have been affected by familial cancer. Michael has also served as a Zed Fellow, creating a service project meant to introduce the field of aerospace to low-income and under-represented communities. Born and raised in California, Michael loves swimming, surfing, drinking boba, and trying new foods.
