CHRISTOPHER ARAUZO

Matthew Isakowitz Fellow, Class of 2024

University of California, Irvine, Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering

Host Company: ABL Space Systems

Christopher Alan Arauzo is a senior at the University of California, Irvine. He is committed to promoting Latino representation in STEM and has served as a board member for MAES: Latinos in Science and Engineering for three years.

Christopher found his passion for engineering after a summer internship at Marathon Refinery Corporation during his junior year of high school. At UCI, he became the Chief Mechanical and Aerospace Engineer for Spacecraft Thermal Management Systems, finding his love for thermal analysis and hardware. This research experience helped him secure an internship at Boeing as an Extreme Environment Materials Intern after his sophomore year and a thermal engineering internship the following summer at Millennium Space Systems, a Boeing Company.

In his senior year, he joined UCI’s Rocket Project as a liquids propulsion engineer to help develop a new engine for the latest rocket. Christopher plans to go to graduate school to learn more about thermal and fluid sciences so that he can become a leader in the commercial space industry, focusing on thermal engineering for all types of spacecraft.
