Tycho Bogdanowitsch is a junior at Columbia University studying Mechanical Engineering. He is the Co-President of the Columbia Space Initiative, a student organization that does all things space varying from sending scientific experiments to the ISS to launching rockets to researching space policy. At the Columbia Space Initiative, he endeavors to inspire the next generation of space enthusiasts through outreach and mentoring programs and leads the development of the fluid propulsion system for their hybrid rocket. He has experience in the aerospace industry as a Phillips Space Scholar at the Air Force Research Lab and as a Space Environments Engineering Intern at Maxar, working on space debris protection methods at both. Tycho has always been fascinated by space and is passionate about building a sustainable future for the growing space economy, including human exploration. In his free time, he enjoys playing and watching soccer (diehard Chelsea fan), playing piano, hiking, skiing, and rock climbing.
