San Diego State University, Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering
San Diego State University, Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering

Host Company: Astra

Thomas Ridgeway is a first-year graduate student at San Diego State University, pursuing his Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering with a focus in rocket propulsion. At SDSU he does research with the Reacting Flows Lab, and is involved in both SDSU Rocket Project and the California Xi chapter of Tau Beta Pi.

Rocketry and aerospace have always been a large part of Thomas’ life, starting at an early age with model rocketry. These days, the rockets are much bigger; Thomas is regularly found at high power launches or spending time with SDSU Rocket Project’s liquids team, where he was the President during his undergraduate. He has had experience working with industry-scale hybrids at Parabilis Space Technologies and Virgin Galactic, and is excited to work at Astra this summer and expand his experience with liquid propulsion. Outside of work, school, and hobby rocketry, Thomas enjoys hiking, rock climbing, offroad motorsports, and snowboarding.
