Sydney Menne is a senior at the University of North Dakota, where she is a double major in physics and mathematics. She grew up around planes, and earned her pilot's license before coming to UND. Sydney serves as co-president of the UND Advanced Rocketry Club and worked on propulsion and advanced manufacturing at Virgin Orbit as a Brooke Owens Fellow. She conducts research on additive manufacturing for lunar hardware through NASA and on particle detectors and nuclear physics as a McNair scholar and through the NSF. She is passionate about developing sustainable propulsion systems for future space exploration and intends to pursue a Masters and PhD in propulsion and engine systems engineering as a Marshall scholar in the UK. In her free time, Sydney loves hiking, riding horses, and cross-country skiing!
