At ERAU, he led the Rocket Development Lab (RDL) as well as worked on the design, analysis, and testing of liquid and solid propulsion systems. He is involved in the aerospace industry inside and outside of the classroom. He is a part of the Hot Nozzle Society non-profit group to help people join hobby rocketry that are interested but unsure how to start. He has worked at Firefly Aerospace as a design intern, Agile Space Industries as a propulsion design and analysis intern, and Blue Origin as a propulsion test intern. Shane is very interested in furthering propulsion technology and hopes to one day become an astronaut. When not working on rocketry, he likes to hike, play games with friends, and go rock climbing.
