Kyle Hampton is a Junior at the University of Kentucky pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He is spending this spring as a Test and Launch Intern for Firefly Aerospace in Austin, TX. At the University of Kentucky, he has gotten involved through several outlets, such as being a member of SpaceLex (UK’s rocketry club), a Peer Mentor for the engineering dorm, and a volunteer for the Special Olympics Club. Kyle is a first-generation college student who grew up on his family’s cattle farm in Waynesburg, KY. He enjoys hiking, kayaking, and watching sports in his free time, and hopes to one day be able to inspire kids from underdeveloped areas to get into the STEM field.
