KEVIN TONG

Matthew Isakowitz Fellow, Class of 2022

Princeton University
, Bachelor of Science in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering

Host Company: Lynk

Kevin Tong is a senior studying Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Princeton University. He is currently developing an Earth horizon sensor for Princeton’s NanoSat Laboratory for his thesis and previously conducted research in the Complex Fluids Group. Most recently, Kevin interned at The Aerospace Corporation, where he co-led a concept design team which developed a mission plan to send paired CubeSats around the Moon to demonstrate smallsat proximity operations and refueling outside of low Earth orbit. On campus, he led Princeton’s Formula Hybrid+Electric team through the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic and is looking forward to finally driving the vehicle later this spring. Kevin’s primary interest is space infrastructure, believing that setting up effective in-space support for future projects will not only help expand our presence into the Solar System but also help everyone back on the ground. In his spare time, Kevin enjoys cooking, sci-fi, jamming out on his saxophone, and spending time with friends.
